    windows 10 pro 1909 is a nightmare

the elitebook i have decided to try to update to 1909 from 1903 and when it was done it wouldnt even show me the sign in page so i ended up having to reinstall 1903 from the beginning. not going to let it do the 1909 update for awhile.

Did you try to perform any sort of troubleshooting whatsoever? 1909 is extremely minor update so if your system runs 1903 fine it should be able to run 1909 as well. In fact, 1903 and 1909 are serviced by the exact same update files.

My desktop PC hung at the login screen after doing that upgrade. I just hit the reset button to reboot the PC and all was fine.

Similar thing happened but with Insider build 19536 in Hyper-V. Culprit there was Enhanced Session.

    Hi there
    install it in QEMU/KVM

Not a single problem - USB re-direction works properly i.e hgotplugging USB devices OK , sound no problem on VM, and runs at almost bare metal speed.

I don't think HYPER-V was really designed for normal Home desktop users running VM-s on it -- at least not from the outset.

    Hi there
you can also run vmware (player is the free one) on it concurrently as well if that's easier --then the VM can move seamlessly between Windows and Linux Hosts --just copy the whole VM folder !!! -- if you move the VM (at least on VMWare) the GUUID of the machine will change so specify "I MOVED it" at first boot on a new machine / new Disk and not "I copied it" otherwise you'll have to (probably) re-activate Windows (the VM) again.
