ok, i'll see how it goes from here, had no issue yesterday.
do you know what's up w/ my disc results? ido i need to run any of the fix utilities or whatever? i'm not sure why i got red/yellow bars on the tests but all-green blocks on the scan.

@zbook ~ well, machine was up this morning, no probs. put it to sleep for a couple hours for lunch, woke up about 15:55, 16:20 or so i got another power off :-(

EDIT: and looking, coincidence or not, it was just after another update.
at 16:00 i got "Installation Successful: Windows successfully installed the following update: 9NBLGGH537C2-Microsoft.XboxGameOverlay" ~annoying, as i don't have an xbox
then at 16:08 "Installation Successful: Windows successfully installed the following update: 9WZDNCRFJBH4-Microsoft.Windows.Photos"

when i go to the updates screen though it says it last checked yesterday :-/

had a look at crystal disk, i have no idea what settings i'm supposed to be using, though i gues the above is enough to show there's issues.

Crystal Disk displays SMART data (one window).

boy, it didn't like that at all.




then i tried on the G: drive, the other partition of the Seagate, and it powered off. tried to restart automatically as usual and took about 5 attempts, kept dying and rebooting, got up and running finally and the disc was sounding like it was still going mad for a few mins. think it's time to remove and replace it :-/
