    Task view- unwanted popup

I tried removing the Task View icon from the Task Bar to stop unwanted 'mini' window pop ups, and rebooted pc; however that did not stop them. Added Task View icon back. Major disruption to working., as this action seems to appear with no rhyme or reason.

I've no idea how this feature was activated, it is shown below:

the Task Bar to stop unwanted 'mini' window pop ups,
I'm guessing you were looking for this originally:
Change Delay Time to Show Taskbar Thumbnails in Windows 10

It's unclear quite what you're referring to. Do you mean the window in the centre of the screenshot? If so, what is it that causes this to appear? When does it appear?
    E.g.
    When I click on x...
    At intervals...
About 12s after I log on..
    When I launch (program)...

Do you have a disk image or system restore point you can use to restore your system to a state prior to what you did?

Yes, I am referring to the smaller window. I could not see the usefulness of a small window which reflected the contents of it larger 'father' window.

It has occurred in chrome, edge, or when having a few Windows utilities opened on the desktop. I have not been able to determine what to do to re-create it, nor identified any mouse movements as cause.

I attempted to recreate the phenomena, & it would not occur <shrug> . I will persevere.
I have Macrium backups just in case.

Solved: Logitech M720 Triathlon mouse, The Task button was programmed to signal a Task View call.

    re-programmed it to "None"

(this mouse button is not visible, it is under the left side of the mouse pad/laying in wait for a Thumb press.)
