Strange thing, I can copy all pictures to desktop then move the folder to Pictures?
It would be nice to resolve this tho??
Taking ownership and changing the appropriate permissions of the Pictures folder should do the trick.

Not sure if I'm following this properly. But I have previously had problems copying files from a camera connected by USB cable and found a way around it. I removed the memory card from the camera and put it in a memory card reader connected to the computer and suddenly everything was fine.
No, I don't know why that would work either.
@ptbptb A lot of the early digital cameras & phones only had limited power available from the small batteries fitted. This limitation could at times cause transfers to fail (even on charge these devices were limited to the battery output power), so it became the norm to remove cards and upload directly.
Hi,
I gave up, nothing worked for me so I reinstalled Win 7, it was very quick, just the updates after.
I will look into Win 10 later when bugs are sorted, so thanks all for you input.
I was trying to transfer pictures from a phone (ironically a Windows phone). Picasa wouldn't do it although it had always worked with W7 and doesn't any more with W10 (coincidentally, of course, Picasa is a Google possession but that's a coincidence of course, move on now, nothing to see here) and the only thing that worked for me was to find the phone on Explorer and drag & drop the pictures folder on to the desktop. From there I could select the pictures I hadn't already uploaded and transfer them to a folder. A bit laborious, very disappointing Microsoft, if this is as I believe a turf war issue in which the mere customers are simply collateral damage. Makes me think if I want this kind of crap I can go to Apple, which is at least stylish and fun. I never ever thought I would say that.
