I just filled up a flash drive with 23 gig of data and deleted the files. my C drive currently shows 9 gig of free space. Windows has been nagging me to do updates for a long time , so Im sure some of the memory was allocated to doing updates. But would that have been 14 gig worth of stuff??
Did you empty the recycle bin too?
Also, sometimes big updates leave files behind in case you want to revert to the older version. Usually, folders called $Windows.~WS and $Windows.~BT
I am assuming that you have not recently cleaned your C: (system Drive )
To do this Right Click on the Drive in File Explorer, select Disk Cleanup and then select Clean up System Files this will work for a while and then present you with a list of unneeded files on your drive you can safely remove these files but there is a View Files Option if you wish to check . there is another tab on this advanced options page More ... which allows you to remove all but the latest restore Points and also any programs you do not use often and thus can likely be done without
