So what should we expect with the NEW MS Edge in January 2020?
Can anyone answer?
When MS releases the new Chromium based Edge (in a week) I was wondering what to expect.
1. Will it be a totally be separate program from Win10 like Google Chrome is now?
2. Will it uninstall the present version of EDGE before installing the new?
3. Will IE11 still work and will be untouched?
Thanks

Hi,
You can have mine
But doubt everyone gets it at the same time unless you manually install it.
What to expect
A new version of edge

I await what the new version will do with my favorites. If it's like the last version of the beta that I tried (not the latest), I may stop using Edge altogether. I like the way the non-Chromium Edge displays favorites. (Even though I despise eliminating the possibility of arranging Edge favorites from File Manager. Why did MS do that?)

After being forced to upgrade from Win7 to Win10 (Dec 2019) I went with Google Chrome as it was faster and didn't lockup as IE11.
So far I'm very happy with Google Chrome but I tired the early Beta of MS Edge Chromium and it sure looked like Google Chrome 99% of the time.
SoI just wonder with the NEW MS Edge be integrated into Win10 OS or seperate where you can easily uninstall.

I'm sure it'll get more customised as time goes on.

Hi,
First thing i imagine new edge to do is corrupt existing default browser asking if I/ we want to use it
If no is clicked computer locks up needing to restore a system image

From what I read the new Edge will replace the old Edge and take over any shortcuts in the Start menu. The current Edge Beta is a standalone and you can have Beta,Dev, Canary all installed in their own directory. I have Edge Beta and will see if it remains and gets updated later to ver 80. I will see on Wed where the new Edge will be installed. Tomorrow is Update Tuesday and I will make an image after it is done and then balls-to-the-wall on Wed.

My fear is that the new Edge will not display favorites in the same way. Guess we'll find out in two days.
