Hi. I think I finally got it working. I had to rebuild the index, and then it was still searching very slowly and not sleeping. So I went through the file types and deleted a large portion of them that didn't look familiar to me. When I did that, it automatically rebuilt the index and started working again, and the computer is now going to sleep.

So I thank you so much for your help!

So the indexing is solved, but now the computer won't sleep because of this. Powercfg -results comes up with:Problems with sleep mode-screen-shot-01-22-20-08.03-am.jpg

Glad to hear of progress with search.

That's likely to be related to Windows Update- is one in progress in some manner?

    See e.g.

2 other quick things you can try.

Set these to off, so your machine isn't sharing any update data with the world.

Second, in your LAN (network card), set these 2 to "Disabled", so nothing can tickle it awake.

How would I get to either of those in order to make the changes?

I found it. I found the Lan change in Device Manager and changed it. My download from other PCs was already set to off.

Good. No guarantees, but that LAN setting used to give me fits till I disabled it.

Now it won't go to sleep even manually, and it's added a DRIVER problem. Problems with sleep mode-screen-shot-01-22-20-10.01-am.jpg
