    Closed lid for sleep mode; discharged completely from 100% overnight


    New late 2019 HP Spectre x360 13t
    i7 10th gen
    Windows 10 home

    I closed the lid which is supposed to activate sleep mode at around midnight. I woke up at around 9am and could not turn on my laptop. I realized it was completely discharged from 100%. So something happened between midnight and 9am on 1/5. What happened?

    First, make sure that yur laptop is really set to go to sleep when you close the lid:

    Start > Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings > Choose what closing the lid does

    Next, you may want to generate a sleep study report if appropriate for your system to see what happened while the system was supposed to be sleeping:
