    Help pls im clueless

Hi all, so I have just build a new pc, it is only the third one that I have ever made and I am experiencing an issue,

It happens at seemingly random times, but everything kind of freezes but not entirely.

For example, if a youtube vid is playing the picture will freeze but the sound will continue
the start menu can be opened but nothing will open from it
Search bar normally show recent apps but in completely blank
    nothing can be searched
if you try to turn off pc or restart without waiting 30 seconds or so it will not
the task manager can be opened but not used
restarting does fix the issue until it happens again
I have left pc idle and it has happened with no input

my os is on a m.2 SSD it is the only hard drive or SSD in the system

    any ideas?

I have not yet tried reinstalling windows

    @Epix -

    OK.

Ensure that each component, where possible, has the latest firmware and driver updates from the vendor website - nowhere else.
This includes the BIOS, chipsets on the motherboard, video, SSD, etc.

Everything must be checked off one at a time.
All the components you listed must be checked, with the exception of the cooler - on that you should check your CPU temps and ensure that nothing is overheating.

    Core Temp

Are all fans mounted with intake and exhaust in the correct direction?

    We can go from there.

Assuming you left no stone unturned...

    1) Backup any important data to an external device and do a totally clean install of W10 x64 - it will do a format - important.
    2) Install the browser of your choice.
    3) Install your AV and FW and update it.

Then test, wait, install another program, test. (repeat this process)

Please post back with your results. Slow and steady.

    TIA

It's hard to be patient, so introduce another previously installed tweak or program past same interval of about where the system would lock-up.
You can double the installation frequency in a couple of days if there aren't any issues.

    Haw are the CPU Temps?

If OK, stress test it a bit before the next tweak/program.

Yeah I had it on for about 6 hours and no freeze, the one thing I have not reinstalled so far is nzxt cam software, this isn't a problem until I want to change RGB colour or fan speed

Keep the Fan speed at default for awhile. Is yours a PWM Fan (varying velocities?)

Do the stress test first, Run it from USB, no install.

If OK, install the cam software.
