    recover encrypted data


    Hello!
    I hope you can help me with the following situation:
    I encrypted a few files on an external hard disk, using an older laptop.
    That laptop does not boot anymore and cannot decrypt those files.
    From what I understood, those files can only be decrypted from that windows.
    I can access data from the hdd through an external rack.
    Is it possible to access the credentials and copy them to another computer or maybe to the same old laptop but with another windows?
    If I give windows repair, will my credentials be affected?

    - is the disk still intact, or has the laptop hardware - other than the disk- failed?

    You can move a Win 10 system disk from one PC to another and have a decent chance it will reconfigure and boot up in another PC. What did you use for encryption? Bitlocker or a 3rd party program e.g. ?

    Hardware it is ok. Just not booting, but I don't want to try now to repair windows if I am not shure that I cand recover data.
    I have used to encrypt data windows option (properties/ advanced/ encrypt data...)
