As a first step, open the folder containing one chm file that is not working. Right-click on a chm file, select Properties, and then check the box that says "unblock". Then try to open the chm and let me know if it is working. Until I read this post, I was unaware of any chm issues on my own system, but I found that Windows is blocking all of my chm files.
Thanks for your reply,
I wish it were that simple. I maintain 6 sizable apps on my Win 10 Pro, all of which have HELP text I created with MS HTML Help. I've looked at the properties of each of the associated chm Help files and none of them even have the "blocked" property. It would seem that the root of the problem is global and I suspect a Registry Key is at fault.
None of the chm files fail on any of the user systems, so even more reason to suspect a Registry Key on my system.
Thanks again,
Bill
