Non Lenovo battery plugged in but not charging

    Non Lenovo battery plugged in but not charging


    I have just purchased a new non Lenovo battery but its not charging.

    please help.

    I am running windows 10 and my Laptop is a Lenovo v570.

    1.- unistall battery drivers
    2.- turn off laptop
    3.- unplug power
    4. remove battery
    5. plug battery back in
    6.- plug in power
    7.- switch on power

    Do you still have the original Lenovo battery? Does it charge at all? I realize that you are probably replacing the battery because it's not holding a charge very well, but does it still charge at all? If it does and the non-Lenovo battery does not then my conclusion would be that this new battery is either defective or incompatible.

    I do, but what happened was that it didnt hold the charge.
    But I read a post about this and tried and it solved the problem, as you can see in my previous post.
    Apparently the Lenovo batteries have a chip that the laptop recognizes and the non OEM lenovo ones dont.

    but by doing what i mentioned solved the issue.

    Ah yes, I understand. My apologies. I didn't realize that the update meant that those steps solved the issue. I thought that you were simply listing what you had tried.
