    Start up issue on recent Win 10 pro upgrade


    On a desktop that has recently been updated from Win 7 to Win 10 pro, when I start up the screen stays on the Windows icon (no moving dots to show that it is processing) and the fan runs fast. The only way to stop it is a forced shutdown. When I do, and then try start-up, everything works smoothly! This pattern is very consistent. Any ideas?

    Perhaps turn off fast startup if enabled? Note there's no guarantee of full compatibility with older PCs not designed for Win 10.
