    70GB missing off 250GB SSD

Ive just realised after coming home off xmas hols that there is a 70GB UNALLOCATED partition at the end of my 250GB Samsung EVO SSD, I cnnot MERGE it to the useable C:\ partition because one of the 4 Windows created and needed partitions is now not at the start of the disk but sitting between the two stopping me from merging and im not creating a second 70GB partition... I want it all back in my C: Drive

    screenshot from Minitool Partition Wizard:

can anyone help with this issue?

    many thanks in advance

You move the small parition in fron of the blank space all the way to the right so blanke is next to c then you can grow it no problem

hi, I thought of that but theres no way of doing so that I know of...do you?

also, I just remembered it was set my be 5-6 months back for a Linux dual-boot (that has since gone down the drain) BUT that windows partition wasnt there between them before?

I'd be gratefulif you could tell me how to move that 500Mb partition back down to the bottom of the drives SSD space?

    thanks

Use minitool partition wizard to merge 70GB with C: partition.

That wont do it unless you pay for it.
I think that is incorrect. I've used the application without a charge, as have many others on this forum.

    It's a free download.

    Hi,
I believe in free mini tool you can right click C partition and select Expand or Extend and point mini tool to the unallocated space then apply.
Mini tool will prompt you it needs to restart the machine to do the task.
    Once restarted you're done.

Download a portable version of: Free Download DiskGenius
    Unzip then run.
Since this is the disk that you have Windows on, Click on File->Reboot to DiskGenious WinPE version

    1. Right click on the unallocated 70GB partition -> Allocate free space to C drive as shown below (Note: in my case the drive letter is K)

    2. click on Save all
    3. Reboot

If everything else fails there is a method that is guaranteed to work. Make an image of that 500 MB partition (using a disk imaging software like Macrium Reflect), delete it, expand the system partition to the unallocated space (leaving enough space for the deleted 500 MB partition) and restore the 500 MB partition at the end of the disk.

    thanks for replies guys

I already have all these tools (except disk genius) and can not do this? or do not know how to...it seems the unallocated space HAS to be next to the C partition, you cant just MERGE it when aother partition is sitting inbetween

the screenshot i provided was from Minitool Partition Wizard , I use Macrium Reflect to back up the entire SSD twice weekly (keeping only one image)

I will have a look at disk genius thanks BUT ive a feeling I will have the same issue

    thanks guys

    Thanks for the rep.
Yes, I do have Minitool and AOMEI Partition Assistant but IMO, DiskGenius can do more and faster than the others.
