    Greetings


    I've been a life-long geek but life led me to prosperity in the trucking industry early on. Of course, life likes to throw curveballs, so when my partner fell into a hideous drug habit - everything fell apart. I honestly believe human-driven trucking is a dead industry driving. So, instead of returning to what I had known, I turned to what I loved - technology.
    It took me a few years to bang out a degree and find a good opportunity, but I got it. I'm now the resident geek of the security department for a large, nationwide company. I get a lot of support from our IT department, but I oftentimes find myself figuring things out on my own. I found TenForums by following Kari's guide to unattended OS installs.
    I've got a love/hate attitude toward Microsoft. My role now has me further down the MS rabbit hole than I ever imagined I would be, and I LOVE IT. Still, MS has got to be the clumsiest behemoth the world has ever known.

    As a to-the-core TenForums geek, it really gives me extra pleasure to hear that at least one member has joined us because of something I wrote

    On another topic, the trucking business here in Europe today is a dying industry, too. Although I as an expat from one EU country living in another, I am very strongly pro-EU and pro-integration, I see what's happening simply by checking the number plates of trucks on European Autobahn / Motorways / Highways. Trucks registered in EU countries with lowest taxes and salaries, driven by non-EU drivers from even lower income countries, driving around carrying our tomatoes and beer and chips to supermarkets, while Western European trucking companies are going bust.

    Anyway, enough politics, I am trying to avoid yet another warning from admins (see forum rules)!

    Hello, and this time, I MEAN IT!


    My original post described all sorts of problems I was having. I now know that it was network problems, which disappeared after switching to my Android phone's Hotspot network.

    I am glad I'm here and I'm glad that, by following the back-linked pages via Chrome back-arrows, I FOUND the page of specs and was able to sae them.

    I just found out that I've been in various threads without having introduced myself. Yes, I'm juuuuuuuuuuuust a bit outside (normal!).

    Hope to both get and give help.

    Apologies to anyone who was insulted by original post. It WAS juuuuuuuuuuuuust a bit outside (expectations).

    You are CORRECT, sir! BTW, it looks like every time I edited, it threw in the entire previous part of the post, plus the updated text. Network said I was connected to the Internet, but attempts to go elsewhere threw "timed out" messages. THAT got my attention.

    I suspect you maybe right about the frequency of my visits. It really depends how often I'm hijacked to provide repair services for friends and family.
