Hi all. I'm a person who used to be in tech support, but got burnt out and then fired and was unable to find another job for 3 years. I am female, overweight, and over 50, so that's made finding any sort of decent paying job difficult. I have a really stupid job now that pays a pittance, has no paid holidays, no vacation, no sick time, no 401K, and the measly PTO I do earn is supposed to cover the holidays the rest of the company takes off. It fails to use any of my years of experience or education - and I'm bitter about it - so that's going to kind of color my questions and replies. While unemployed, technology moved on w/o me and now I spend each day finding something new to curse at Windows 10 about. So I am here trying to find answers rather than just shredding my computer. Probably too much life story...but that's me right now.

    Hello all.
I've been in IT for nearly 40 years, starting out doing hardware support on Mainframes (remember them?) and finally retired 2 years ago from being a Contract Software Tester on Windows platforms.

I still think of myself as a Geek (and so do my friends!) and, having used Windows 10 forums (and before that Windows 7 forums) have found it to be my "go to" for assistance when a tricky issue comes up.
Every so often I've thought - "Oh, I could contribute to that conversation", so finally got my act together and joined.

Hoping to contribute useful stuff from time to time

Most welcome to our (not so small) community. We can use any expertise and contributions and may be as helpful too.

I am Miss Bad Wolf. I like wolves and sometimes I think I am bad as I do not always like doing what I am told. I just found this thread as I am at a mall waiting for work to start but not wanting to read the books I brought to read.
