    Now this is a worm welcome, thank you.
    Looking at those shinny emblems makes me feel like I'm starting to play Battlefield 1 for the first time while everyone is at max level.

    Welcome to TenForums

    Not a new member, but feeling the urge to introduce (background) myself a bit more - other then my specs and OS-es - like I should have done a long time ago. So thank you in advance for reading!

    Perhaps you might have seen that I'm a hybrid macOS and Windows 10 user. Lately I've become more and more interested in the Microsoft Windows part of my hybrid system on my current Mac Pro 5.1 and not without a very good reason I might add.

    In 2008 I changed my Windows XP PC for a Apple Mac Pro 3.1 for doing some serious Photoshop (paid) and Film (hobby) editing work, as being a freelance Photographer at that time, I just got sucked in the Apple ecosystem for of course the specs of the machine(s) in those days and all available applications and workflows for my field of work at that time. My core business in the following years were mainly combining my job as a freelance Project Manager Marketing and Sales a.i. and producing my own photographs as media for the projects I worked on. Djeez, I really needed to 'sell' my newly bought Mac Pro to my wife! But he, I had a great proposition for her.

    Well being partially disabled now - due to a failed back-surgery back in 2014 - I really needed to change my field of focus dramatically. So during my slow recovery, I became more-and-more interested in the core of Mac OS X / now macOS and my Windows 8 BootCamp in relationship with all applications I'd been using so far. Having the urge to be part of some serious 'ball-game" again, I decided to put some more effort and time in beta-testing. In the past years I've enrolled for the beta-test programs for:
    - ESET Cyber Security Pro (Mac) and Smart Security (PC);
    - KPN Back-up Online for both Mac and PC;
    - and now Windows 10 Insiders Preview.

    Just recently I'm also a part of the Centrecode beta-test team.

    Because of the big game changing plans and midterm/longterm outlooks at Apple Inc. HQ in the past 3 years - mainly regarding the pro line-up computing, because I still just use my analoge watch - I've come to realise, that my current Mac Pro's 3.1/5.1 might be the last ones I'll ever own. So after spending years of investing some serious resources into my workflow- hardware and software, I've been "looking around" as they say, for high-quality replacements for my Apple hardware and software, et-voila I discovered the great new Windows 10 - updating from Windows 8/8.1.

    Even when it comes to the hardware, the new Microsoft Surface (Pro) Studio looks very nice to me. Looking at some serious specs for my likings and needs (relatively to personal judgement of course) I find the HP Z840 a very nice replacement as well. Bottom line, when that inevitable day arrives, that both my current Mac Pro's (3.1/5.1) will die on me, I must be ready to act. Therefore I've become more involved in the Windows 10 community. But he, it has been a steep learning curve so far and enjoying every part of it.

    No one gets anything for free!

    Cheers,

    PS feel free to ask me a question or drop me a PM...

    Hi all! I just recently joined the W10 crowd. I've been a hard core W7 fan since it was introduced and I still have my W7 desktop, but I bought a W10 laptop for my wife so I had to figure out how to set it up so she could use it. Thanks to TenForums I've pretty much learned how to find my way around W10 in the last few days. I'm retired so I have time to work with it. The tutorials on this site have been a tremendous help! They're well laid out and easy to follow.
    And thanks to the guys who are so tolerant of the occasional dumb question. LOL
