I see from your other post you just upgraded from W7 to W10, welcome on board

Should it ever give you any hassle later on, just ask away.

Welcome to Ten Forums Tanya. W10 does give W7 PCs a new lease of life and this forum has lots of information to keep it that way.

I am currently a stay-at-home dad. I was a college math instructor and a B2B sales and marketing professional in the plastics industry.

I enjoy rough carpentry, auto repair, and welding.

In 1981, I programmed in FORTRAN and WATFIV on an IBM 3081D (D: Dual processor) nicknamed "Sybil" that ran MTS instead of an IBM OS. (Where was I in 1981?)

In 1984, I wrote a computer program in BASIC for the U.S. DOD that sized munitions incinerators.

In 1990, I replaced my 1200 baud Hayes modem with a 2400 baud model to search the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's relational database of patent numbers and keywords.

In 1993, I had no idea what the internet was, so my fiance purchased "Internet In A Box", but I never opened the box.

In 1996, I reluctantly switched from DOS to Windows.

    Welcome to TenForums gfr,

We have a few things in common, I too have done a spell as a stay-at-home-dad. I hope it is as rewarding for you as it was for me. I leaned Fortran as my first programming language back in the 70's and I have a classic Mk1 Mini from the 60's that I've restored, I never learned to weld though, but all the mechanics I do for myself.

Where we differ is that I have been an enthusiastic user of Windows since Windows 3.1 in the early 90's.

There are all sorts here from complete novices to experts, so feel at home and ask anything you want. As our administrator Brink says in his signature "There are no dumb questions, just the people who do not ask them."

Welcome to Ten Forums gfr. Glad to have you on board. I started with Fortran in the late 70's too on an IBM 360-30.

Welcome to TenForums, Gfr. I remember thinking I'd died and gone to Heaven when I got my first 3000 baud modem!
