Hi “guys” especially those who tried so hard to resolve my recent problem.
I name them here simply in the order they replied to my quest for help. Yet they all get my sincere thanks for trying. some put a lot of effort into it Cknoettg posted many helpful suggestions, with more suggestions coming from others offering help.
I thank you all the same as (If I had been in your position, it’s obvious, I couldn’t have helped me. No matter how much I may have wanted to) ALL those mentioned, tried their best I’m sure. Here you go guys tonight’s nominations go to : Samuria, Pokeefe0001, AndreTen, Topgundcp, Jacee, Cknoettg,Yokiaza, winuser…Cheers 2 u all.
One or two of you may have gathered, I blew a fuse., metaphorically speaking. I developed a headache just turning the computer on , it was time to take a break. Having learned and executed several new aspects to computing which I had not the first inkling of prior to speaking to you guys and with the fear that if I was not very careful I was going to lose just what I wanted to recover, I was in a good deal of self-generated stress.
It was the wrong time, isn’t it always? To have the problem and there were many other calls on my time. I told you I was going to get Aladin (A Lad in) and I’m glad I did, he resolved the problem.
Now as to what went wrong and why….I don’t know for sure, quite what I did that caused the problem, the symptoms displayed on the computer, even left Aladin somewhat mystified at first. I’ll not go through all what I did at the outset, as that is covered in my early posts.
However, the resolution was just beyond my grasp after I had done as those nominated above, suggested I did. A big clue was displayed by Tree Size, if you know enough to be able to read it better than I did.
My Documents were on my drive but invisible to me under “System Volume Information”. I think I posted a “TreeSize” pic with that info shown. If you are unable to see it and Or want more info than I provide here please just ask. I couldn’t see the folders/files/docs I wanted to, within Sys Vol Info, as I did not have “access” admin rights to that folder. I wasn’t aware that access was just a click away.
As soon as Aladin spoke the Magic Words, “Open sesame?” No!! “Give Me Admin Rights to my System Vol Info” The door opened and “there they were, they were behind us all the time children”. Once we had admin rights and could see them, he/we could work out what best to do with them. It was decided that the best thing for his time and my wallet, was to recover them from a Macrium Image which thanks to Andreten I had used to make a copy of the drive the day prior. I oversaw this process during the next 12 hours or so. When Aladin returned to the front he was able to resolve all the other folders.
Phew! What a relief. The pictures and other Library files were not quite so awkwardly scattered. I think due to the new admin rights, it was now possible to see them and to deal in accord.
It all sounds SO very simple and of course, it was/is if you only know what you’re doing. It has been an experience; one I do not wish to repeat.
I have learnt a lot and realise there’s a lot more to learn. I’ll be sticking around if you don’t mind, to do that and if I can to help.
I’m off now to make a back up
I’m going to adopt those words as my Slogan

Cheers “Guys”
