Shortcut to the folder on the external device - no way to create?

    Dear all,

i want to create a shortcut in the "Send to.." folder/menu which will copy selected data to my Android 8.1.0 mobile phone (connected to PC via USB wire). So the logic of the path is: Phone -> SD memory card -> Folder_name.

When i right-click on the destination folder there's no option to create a shortcut. OK, not a big deal - i decided to create it myself and the address i've taken from the Properties of this folder. The address is: This computer\ASUS Zenfone 3\16Gb\_MP3 where ASUS Zenfone is the mobile phone name, 16Gb is the SD card's name and _MP3 is the destination folder on SD card.

However, when i paste this address to the shortcut i get the message "File "This" is not found", which makes me think that the name of the computer should be possibly written in another format rather than just This computer.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

Try to put the name between quotes, usually when there spaces in a path you have to put it between quotes:

    "This computer\ASUS Zenfone 3\16Gb\_MP3"
    "\\
    This computer\ASUS Zenfone 3\16Gb\_MP3"
    "\
    \ASUS Zenfone 3\16Gb\_MP3"

Hi Ricardo, thank you for this input, however none of those 3 variants worked. I get the message "Name of the destination file is incorrect. Check the name of the file."

    Any other ideas maybe...?

    Maybe something like this:

    file:///ASUS%20Zenfone3/16GB/_MP3
    "file:///ASUS Zenfone3/16GB/_MP3"

Use quotes and replace This computer with drive letter "C:\ASUS Zenfone 3\16Gb\_MP3"

Get the info directly from File Explorer:
    Link as normally shown:

Link after you click in the Address field:

Just copy the highlighted address then paste into the Command Prompt window or Ctrl+V, enclosed on double quotes.

Guys, thank you so much for your participation! The solution (got it from another forum) is genious in its simplicity:

    Once connected via MTP:

    1) Open File Explorer
    2) Right-click the Android folder and select Copy
    3) Now on the left select the Desktop
    4) Now right-click inside the Desktop and select Paste shortcut

    Closing thread as solved.

Good question! The funny thing is that it's just This computer\ASUS Zenfone 3\16Gb\_MP3. Here's the screenshot:

I guess the magic is done somewhere in the background, with the "official" path (shown in Properties) being not the essential part of it. What seems important to me here is Location (it's in Russian, so i highlighted it in circle): it clearly states this is an external memory card (named 16Gb).
