Wi-Fi Disconnects Randomly (Not directly related to 10)
So, firstly I would like to say that I'm sure most of you have at least heard of this issue if you have never directly dealt with it yourself. This did not just start happening after I upgraded to Windows 10; in fact, it followed me from 7 to 8 to 10 now. Although, each time a new Windows is installed, the issue stops happening for a few days. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
The Problem:
I can be doing anything. Listening to music, playing a game. Then suddenly, everything will stop and I'll look. Sure enough, I've been disconnected from my internet. Again, this has happened throughout Windows 7-10. All I have to do is manually reconnect, and I'm back. But usually only for a few more minutes. What I have noticed, however, is that it happens more frequently depending on what I'm doing/playing; I just don't know what makes this occur.
What I have tried:
I have been trying to solve this problem for years, which obviously means I have scoured the internet, searching for every possible method that has been suggested. Here's what I've attempted:
- Reformatting Windows (like I said, it goes away for a few days after a reformat/an upgrade, but it never stays away).
- Uninstalling my Wireless card and having Windows automatically reinstall it (this seemed to work for 30 minutes.)
- Playing with my router settings.
- Changing my Power Save plans.
- Playing with the Firewall settings.
- Uninstalling programs that seemed to be part of the problem.
- Searching for viruses.
Nothing was effective. And if it was at all effective, it was only temporary. If anyone can suggest anything that isn't in this list, please, by all means do so. Thank you for your time.
