Why Did My Settings Revert Back After Restart?

Hey guys; i was playing 'The Bureau xcom declassified' and the screen went black. I don't know whether the game crashed or if it was my system. The PC restarted okay and then my windows 10 "make everything larger" E of A settings had reverted back to very tiny. In a panic, i went ahead and ordered a RX580 8GB graphics card. The one i have is the RX560 2GB and it gets power straight from the MB. I'm hoping you can say why my screen went black and why did my scaling settings revert and if i've wasted my money worrying about that graphics card.
Hoping the symptoms i wrote will let y'all say what happened. TIA

The video card might have overheated during the stress of the game and reverted to Default settings. It may just be a one time thing, but keep an eye on it.

I played the game again and this time, when i quit the game, a windows troubleshooter was open. I wasn't sure what to do so i went with the recommended settings. So indeed, it must be that my gpu is not happy with my dpi settings. Will the new gpu fix everything ya think?

Your present video card will probably work too. We could help if we knew what the troubleshooter message said, and what was attempted after that to fix it? .
Here are your specs RX560-O2G | Graphics Cards | ASUS USA make sure the Fan is clean of dust and there is plenty of Air Flow to it and nothing in your case is blocking it

You probably just need to clear the dust out of your computer case and the GPU and CPU Fan.
