Hi, I'm new here. Like a lot of new arrivals, I guess, I've got a problem!

Thanks. In a mad twist of fate I actually fixed it just after posting this message! Somehow my active partition had been changed, which is why I couldn't boot.

Of course! Isn't that always how it happens?

Follow Bree's instructions and post anyway, giving the problem and how you solved it. Someone else may need the help.

I just joined here too, after learning about DOS, Windoze3.1, WinXP, and then even more M$B$ as I TRY to upgrade..., now, all my windoze are broken..., XP only because it's hard to get parts for the tower.
I've been using this site for years..., since 10 was announced, invaluable resource for 10, but still have 7 on a PC that crashed at the same time I was trying to fix Windozed10 on my Brother's gaming laptop.
Now I'm spending all my internet time on broken windoze..., I came here to TenForums because I needed to know how to control or fix problems he had with 10, (which swayed my decision , never to switch) and this is still the first place I seek when I have the internet. We live in rural Canada, (internet is only stable at Timmy's or the Library.) so we want a stable and reliable computer. I'd try Linux, if there was a boot option in this darn Alien to boot from CD or USB...,
This place is better than M$ for support and fixes, Micro$oft, all they ever seem to do is "work on it". None of their Troubleshooters has ever found or fixed a problem I've encountered, so it is left to the end user to find the variable and fix the equation..., on Their time!
I will never pay for another M$ program..., I'm going back to Linux and dual boot this brick back to life! At least I shouldn't need permission for that..., on MY computer.

Welcome to Ten Forums Rob. Glad your problem is sorted. Sounds a really odd one.
