Hello, I'm StanB, just your curious average (Joe) here.
I've been registered since the 1st part of this year but this is my 1st time posting. I've learned a lot and been able to solve several problems from all the posts. Thanks to everyone!
Welcome to Tenforums StanB! Good to have you here

Hi "Guys" especially those new members like myself who have joined over the last week or so. I'd like to urge you all to take part in any way you can in this forum. From a limited experience on other forums, I've found that those who most took part got more from the forum than those who just said hello and asked a question now and then. This followed naturally as those who could help, were more inclined to help those who did help. I've yet to explore this forum but if its like my other forums then there are plenty of ways to get involved and you don't need to be a professor of computing. "The more you put in, the more you get out" I wonder who said that first. Good luck to you all

Just a quick "Hi!" from an old curmudgeon who still remembers how to manually punch paper tape in Octal and write mnemonic Assembler (machine code prior to any of those wimpy macros). MVS was once my favorite stomping ground, as far as OSes go.

I continue to eschew W10 whenever and wherever possible, though it has been unavoidable at times, no thanks to the Gen VIII and subsequent Intel CPUs. I'm on the 2020 Insider edition on one new-ish unit but that's mostly for curiosity's sake. I marvel at how badly the W10 "updates" have been handled, some of which seem to qualify more as total OS replacements than mods.

I have a couple dozen systems in use and am mostly still using W7/64 in its various iterations as well as various Linux compilations... with the odd XP and even DOS based units on hand. Let me channel the late Charlton Heston for a sec: "You can have my W7 when you pry it from my cold, dead hands!"

Looking forward to participating here, you seem to have a lively crew on board.
Welcome to Ten Forums mwagrp. I'm an old mainframe hand too. Never got my hands on MVS though. VM/VSE was my stomping ground.

Welcome, Silky106. Main forum page with the News thread, and the Tutorials are 2 good places to start. Of course, if any questions, pick the appropriate Sub-forum and ask away.
