Search result in Win10 1909 file explorer doesn't refresh anymore?

If I use the "new" search function (in the windows 10 b1909 file explorer) to list all pdf in my actual directory and all subdirectories I type *.pdf in the higher right corner search field and get the correct result.

But if I mark them all (CTRL+a) and press the DEL key, it doesn't refresh the result anymore (the list of pdf remain visible. If I try to delete this files again, I get an error message, that this files doesn't exist anymore, still remaining in the search result).
In most cases, I even have to restart the explorer.exe to get back my working file explorer.

Is this a known issue since build 1909?

Do you know how to get the list refreshing automatically without restart of the process "explorer.exe"?

    Hi,
Indeed, there is no auto refresh but what if you hit F5 or right click => Refresh page?
Here, refresh works fine but not automatically.

Yes, F5 does exactly how it worked before 1909.

Can I adjust this behaviour in any way?

    Or the other way around:
Why should this "not refresh automatically" be better?

I cannot answer to your questions. Perhaps someone else...

Could be the pdf preview handler. What do you use to view/ open pdf documents?

If Adobe - I have the same issue on my work machine where files do not show as deleted until navigating away from the file preview in explorer. Similar issue here:

Windows 10 explorer preview prevents PDF delete. Is this being fixed?

If using Adobe try switching to: Download Xpdf and XpdfReader

I think, this is not the case. I've tested it with .png files (opening by Photo) and the result is the same.

Also, OP refers to search results, not to a directory.

Cheers. I missed that. I don't use windows search so cannot test.

    Thanks @Callender

    Unfortunately, the mentioned fix
    Just right click on desktop
    Click Personalize
    Click Themes

    Click Change desktop icons
    Restore default & OK

    doesn't help in my case.

    Just to clarify:
The file explorer itself refresh the content of files and folders.

It's the search result within the file explorer which doesn't refresh anymore if I have deleted (or copy & pasted with CTRL+C & CLTR-V) a file from the search result.
