    Anybody here still on 1809?

I'm asking since I'am and haven't updated since I do not have the desire too yet. The 1903 update did get downloaded onto my system but it failed to install since I kept postponing it back in August. Is there gonna be a time when Windows will force 1909 on me?

If your 1809 is currently showing the 1909 feature update as an optional 'download and install now' then that will be automatically installed a few months before 1809 reaches end of service in May 12, 2020.

Even if you have Pro deferring Feature Update by 365 days isn't going to help much. The defer period is counted from the feature update release date., As 1903 was released in May 2019 so that too would be installed in May 2020.

    I hear you, Redbatman!

I didn't want 1903 ... and Microsoft said my computer was "not ready" for it. But recently it said that 1909 was ready for me.

I said no. I made my connection "metered". I'll leave it that way for the remainder of the computer's life. I don't need any more troubles.

The computer is approaching three years old and I'll probably keep it for two more. When I get a replacement in 2022 it'll have Windows 11 ... or whatever they decide to call it. Until then I don't need what Microsoft likes to call "feature enhancements" ... which really are not.

    Safety first.

With that said is there anyway I can get rid of 1903 download on my PC. If it's not going to install then I don't want that space still be used up.

    Hi,
Not unless you have a system image without the update.
Two builds is all that is supported to the general public regardless of eol states.
Once 1903 is mainstream 1809 is doa welcome to win-10.
