Night Light won't turn on on schedule

Night Light won't get activated on schedule - see screenshot for details. Deactivation works as expected though.

OS version: Windows 10 1909, but before upgrading from 1803 I experienced the same problem
    Intel GPU driver version: 26.20.100.7463

Night Light works as expected on my desktop, with seemingly the same programs being installed and the same Windows settings (related to Location, Time etc.)

Any idea what is wrong and how it can be diagnosed?

Hi, there's a lot on this sort of problem here:
Windows 10 night light not working - Win10 FAQ

Please work through it carefully, keeping a note of what you've tried, and then post back. Thanks.

I've actually found this page before and found the article quite well written, but this has not helped.

I haven't been able to find anyone posting about this very problem. People post about night light being greyed out, not turning on at all, schedule not working at all but this seems to be a bit different.

To be more precise about my laptop, I've got a Thinkpad X1 Carbon 2018.

You might find the registry info here useful:
    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...86d3251?page=1

As I don't know what has already been tried and you don't say, I don't want to waste your time or mine by suggesting things you've already tried.

If you create a new user for test purposes, and try Night Light when logged in as that user, does it work?
If it does, the problem is specific to your current user account.

If not, given what you say about having the same problem from 1803, an in-place upgrade repair install will not help you, unfortunately.

I have no magic fix, and you've clearly done your research, and anything I might suggest will be something you've tried before.

Meanwhile, please feel free to search the forum for related solved threads.

    Alternatives:
Redshift, f.lux (free). I preferred Redshift of these when I used it.

I will just install flux as Night Light is way too unreliable, especially for such a simple feature that has been around for years.
