    Save As File Arrangement

Windows 10 1903 Working on a ThinkPad laptop - How do I switch back to a normal layout when trying to save a file as something else in my downloads folder? ie I want the layout to look the same as it does in the desktop or documents folder....alphabetically, not by creation date.

Yes, I looked at that dropdown, but it only changes the way that the icons are viewed, it doesn't get rid of the date separator and allow the icons to be viewed alphabetically.

If you want to get rid of the 'Today' and 'Earlier this week' dividers, r-click a blank area in Downloads folder, hover mouse over 'Group by' and click 'None'. Then you will get same list view as other folders, if you select in Ribbon. Good Luck

Nice thing about the view in File Explorer [and the older Windows Explorer] is in the right panel one can click a column heading to change the lineup of files [ascending or descending] or click and drag a column left or right to change the order of the columns. Can also click the View tab, Options icon, View tab and save how things are set.

Internet Explorer and Firefox browser's Save as does show a different lineup in its file management that appears to be not changeable in the Downloads folder.
