    Quick Icon Question

    Good Evening,

I am having an issue with remembering what a friend said he did to my computer this morning while trying to do some of his homework. However, I have noticed that there are certain files in and around my computer that have a certain looking icon that mimics: ">>" and has blue color.

I'm trying to find out what this icon relates to so I can do what I need to do to disable/remove it.
    Here is a screenshot sample:

Actually I'm talking about the blue square with the 'double right arrows' that is on top of those icons. What does this icon represent for that given file? Where can I go to look at the settings for this, I think its a data feature.

    New screenshot attached.

Two triangles that point to the right is the symbol used to represent the fast forward function on audio and video media players.
What are all the symbols used by computers?

    Hi,
It seems like a symbol of an associated program which handles them. When you click on these files, what program do they open with?

Also, on your screenshot, I can see a backup tab which normally does not exist.

Might be Norton backup if I remember correctly. Do you use Norton?

BINGO! Thank you so much!!! I'm not sure how this guy ended up starting a backup set, maybe he tried to upload something via a share button and norton was an option, I don't know. Anyway, issue resolved.

    ewh,

I think that backup symbol represents files that need to be backed up i.e. files covered by a predefined Norton backup set that have been changed since the last backup.

I do not have Norton backup and am only going by what I have seen others post in the past.
