Computer will not resume after a period.
When I leave my computer on it can take 20 minutes or so to resume. I re-start if I need it faster. Can anyone help please?

Could be damaged file that stores fast startup data.
Open admin command prompt and type
report back, could be something elsepowercfg -h off
I tried the powercfg -h off and nothing happened. Thinking that a space was missing between the - and the h, I tried that. Again no result. I entered these in the 'Type here to search box' Is this correct?
Hi from levi
I have found out how to get to the Command prompt. Entering exactly as you gave me, an error message appears saying; 'WINDOWS\system32powercfg' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file'
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Guess you tried to replicate the command in picture above.. and missed one backslash \
Type just
if you want to enter the whole path, it would be:powercfg -h off
C:\WINDOWS\system32\powercfg -h off
Hi from levi
Typing 'cmd' in the type here box brings me to C:\users\Alan>. Typing cd\ brings me to C:\> I cannot get rid of the > symbol. You must think I am a complete Herbert for not knowing such basic prompts.
Hi from levi
I cannot select 'run as administrator' but entering as detailed. An error message appears, 'Unable to perform operation. An unexpected error (0x65b) has occurred. Function failed during execution'
Why can't you run cmd as administrator? Are there any limitations on your computer (business system perhaps)? In that way, ask your system administrator to do it.
Or try powershell. Press Windows key and type: powershell, right click on it and click on run as admin.
Or right click on Start button and select powershell (run as admin)
Type the same command in there.
