Windows 10 gives blank screen after installation on SSD

    Hey guys

I just installed Windows 10 on an SSD using a DVD. After the installation finishes, I get nothing but a black screen. I popped into BIOS to put the SSD first in the boot order, but even though it's first I have no changes.

So to clarify, BIOS loads fine, but after that I get nothing.

Where did you get the DVD? How old is it? How was it made? You need to create a fresh installation USB stick by using a fresh image from Microsoft.

The only reason I was using the DVD was because all the USBs we made earlier didn't work. We made one using the Media Creation Tool, then tried Rufus. We would only get to the Windows Logo screen. Some people suggested booting from UEFI instead of Legacy, but that didn't work at all.

Your USB Drive has to be booted via UEFI in order to clean Install using UEFI Mode

Since you got to the WINDOWS logo - then the SSD was setup using MBR/Legacy Mode
Problem was you did not wait long enough for windows to Finish..

Let me clarify. I made two USB drives in Rufus. One that worked on Legacy and the other that worked on UEFI. When booting in Legacy mode (with the Legacy USB), I would get Windows logo and nothing else. It just wouldn't work, no matter how long I waited.

I tried booting into UEFI mode with a USB drive that worked in UEFI, but that gave me nothing, not even a logo.

    1) You do not need Rufus to create Windows Setup Media (USB)
    2) Windows Setup Media supports Legacy & UEFI Booting
    3) Booting from the USB Drive should of given you windows setup
    4) After booting into Windows Setup - Delete all partitions from Selected SSD
    5) Allow windows to use unallocated disk space to create partitions and install windows
