Error sound no Error Message, probably clipboard issues

Hi I need help finding the problem.
Windows makes an error sound when I try to take a screenshot with a software called IrfanView.
It worked before but suddenly this issue appeared.
    It doesn't go away.
How can I dig deeper in what the problem is?
Is there any tool that I can use to find the problem.
I checked eventviewer but I don't know where that error message would appear.
I was hoping to see any kind of errors in the application section but I can't find IrfanView listed there.

I would really appreciate your help on this.
    Kind regards
    Anders

Hi, which version of Irfanview do you have, and which build of Windows?

v4.52 32 bits - custom rectangular screenshot works fine.

Which screenshot options are you using? Please post- yes- a screenshot- which you could create using e.g. the PrtSc key or Snip or Snip & Sketch or any other screenshot tool.

Have a look at your Reliability History and see if there's a relevant red x and post the details.

    Thanks.

I did a reinstall of irfranview and now it works.
It is good that it works but not so good that I never figured out the problem.
What was a bit unexpected was that I checked the version 4.53 and then installed the latest which was 4.53.
I didn't expect it to be auto updated.
Thanks for being willing to help Dalchina

Glad it was simple. Not all progs auto-update - and that can be disabled of course. There are programs that scan for updates to programs with varying degrees of usefulness- Sumo (free version) and Software Informer for example scan and tell you about quite a lot.
