    Start Menu - Right-Click

Hello,In the "Start Menu" there are two types of icons - one is a square with a folder icon on it, the other is a square with the program's icon. Now 'folder icons' have no right-click sub-menu, the others with a program icon have a right-click sub-menu.In the sub-items of a "folder-icon" there is a right-click sub-menu.Have not noticed it before and cannot remember how it was before the upgrade. My question - Is it normal or something wrong ? (If wrong, how to fix it)Attached to demonstrate: "Start Menu Screenshots.jpg": A - right-click on a "folder icon", B - right-click on a program's icon,
    C - right-click on a sub-item from the "folder-icon"Answers will be appreciatedThanksMotim

Hi, FWIW (1903) there's no context menu for folders in the start menu either.

If you want that, try e.g. Open Shell (free) - the updated and currently maintained build of Classic Shell, albeit that for folders of shortcuts created when a program is installed shows a full file explorer style context menu, which is not really sensible. For folders specifically added e.g. as categories, the context menu is relevant to the - er- context.

Classic Shell will allow you to configure your start menu as you see fit. I've been quite happy with it from day 1 of my Windows 10 experience.

All versions of Windows 10 have always been like that.

Classic Shell was abandoned some time ago. It has been revived as Open-Shell, same great program but updated. GitHub - Open-Shell/Open-Shell-Menu: Reborn of Classic Shell.

I still use Classic Shell which works. Is there a particular advantage in using Open Shell?

Its pretty much the same but gets updated regularly, there may be a couple extra options, but nothing to worry about.
Like you I still use classic on several computers with different versions and bits (64 and 32). without any
    trouble.

Thanks spunk. That reminds me that I should be paying more attention to the links I post.

There is not much difference between Classic Shell and Open-Shell, one of the obvious differences is the Settings shortcut, is actually called Settings in Open-Shell like in Windows 10.
For those people that like to keep the latest and greatest, you will want to install Open-Shell as it gets updated regularly. At some point Classic Shell will no longer be supported in newer versions of Windows 10.
