Windows 10 update meltdown. Please help!

This is exactly what happened... and I was too late. I did use Recurva to try to recover all my files but the majority of them were corrupted. All the stuff I've written for the past 4 years was part of the stuff I lost.
I guess some lessons about computer files have to be learnt the hard way😭😭😭

Thank you so much for all of this but apparently I saved all my files to a Temporary user on C:Windows>Users when I wasn't sure why all my files seemed to have vanished from the videos, pictures and document folders. They're all corrupted now.
