    in explorer the command line always starts with /This PC/.

    is there a way to start explorer with the C:\prompy

    Paul,

    Ceate a shortcut with the target property
    C:\Windows\explorer.exe C:\prompy
    and then you can right-click on that shortcut to add it to the Taskbar or Start menu to make it more convenient.

    But didn't you mean C:\Users\prompy instead? That's the path to your user folders where your Documents, Music etc subfolders are [assuming you have the username prompy]. So the shortcut would be
    C:\Windows\explorer.exe C:\Users\prompy

    Doesn't even work.

    I just want to get rid of that and start from a C:\
