I am definitely going to try that. Thanks again. If troubleshooting is not working (hopefully it will), is it ok to try and install windows 7 or 10 on this computer, considering that it previously had vista installed?

Each operating system has minimum hardware requirements and licensing.
Vista I'm not familiar with.
