    Windows 10 mmc and gpedt.msc auto closes


    Windows version : 1903
    -
    I had no troubles previously but after I added some policies using mmc to a user, both mmc and gpedit.msc auto closes...(doesn't feel like a crash)

    can someone guide me on what problem this may be, or better yet a solution?

    Disclaimer : No buttons are pressed during the recording, and as you can see in the beginning, mmc auto closes in just split seconds so I had to reopen it again for demonstration

    Hi, welcome to tenforums. Things you might consider:
    a. Create a new user for test purposes, log in as that user and check the same behaviour is not observed - hopefully.
    b. Try a clean boot and make sure nothing is interfering.
    c. Reset policies to default
    Reset Local Group Policy Editor Settings to Default in Windows 10
    d. Have a look at your Reliability History and see if any of the red x's are relevant.

    Do you have a System Restore point or a recent disk image you could restore?
