Firstly, I must have magnifier docked at the bottom and set to follow the mouse cursor.
Issue 1: In the docked position, the lens remains on top of youtube videos that are in full screen mode as well as with full screen videos in Windows MPC player
English is not my first native language so forgive me if I misunderstood you.

When you open the browser the magnifier is at the bottom of your screen but when you watch YT videos in full screen it unexpectedly shifts to the top, is that correct?

therefore, my only option has been to close the magnifier while playing videos in full screen. This is not an easy or simple thing to do. The right side red X close button is not in view with the magnifier docked so i have to drag the magnifier up and to the left to reveal the close button.
You don't have to drag it anywhere - just press Alt + Tab to see the magnifier's options thus revealing the close button.

Also, i am unable to right-click the lens to bring up the close option, as it was in windows 7
The magnifier doesn't work like this on Windows 10: in order to zoom in or out you just press Windows button and plus / minus buttons on the keyboard (in your case it's much easier than on laptops as you use an external keyboard with plus / minus buttons at the far right, so they are easily accessible).

    Hope that helps.
I also suffer from bad eyesight and without the magnifier I wouldn't be able to use my computer.

No, it stays docked at the bottom. What happens is that magnifier covers over the screen on the bottom, obstructing the full view.

On closing the magnifier, i appreciate your reminding me about the keyboard shortcuts but that's just not gonna do it for me. I can't get to those buttons so easily and i don't always have my wireless keyboard in my lap. I did find a windows tool that reassigns mouse buttons but my mouse was not supported.
I'll just keep on dragging it around until someone smart invents a fix.

It requires a registry hack to disable the taskbar task preview panes from popping up. Someone may be able to do similar with this issue. Thanks for your concern

I still don't get it, but I'm sure it's just a linguistic problem. When you watch a YT video in full screen with the magnifier docked at the bottom that's what you see, right?:

You may drag the magnifier windows' edge up and by pressing (yeah, I remember what you said about the wireless keyboard !) Win + +/- buttons you may zoom in the view like this:

My question is how do you want to watch the movies then with the magnifier on?

disable the taskbar task preview panes from popping up
Again, I don't understand it. What sort of taskbar task preview panes are poppin up on the screen? Can you post a screenshot?

Yes, correct; that is exactly what i'm seeing. In windows 7, the magnifier remained in the background!

I'd like to stick with the magnifier issue here; I will start a new thread to talk about the taskbar, okay?

My apologies. I jumped from XP to Windows 10 that's why I couldn't get your point.

I understand and thanks. My goal is simply to have the magnifier remain in the background of everything.

When i play a movie in MPC HC, i am able to go into the player's options and set the player to "stay on top of other applications". When i do this, it works; the player 'stays on top' of my browser and it stays on top of other folders, etc. however, It will not stay on top of magnifier. This drives me nuts. The magnifier in windows 7 Always stayed out of sight.

    Still need help

Most of my issues with windows 10 magnifier would not be a problem if only i could access the red X close button while in the docked position! Surely there is a registry tweak or something that would make that happen, yeah? thanks

Another thing about this that infuriates me is that when i open magnifier in it's docked position, my desktop icons become jumbled; once i close magnifier, the icons jump back to normal.
I even tried the third party "Desk lock" tool but it did not defeat the magnifier involvement!

Does anyone have a solution for these problems or not? I can't be the only person with windows 10 magnifier issues.

I notice that when i move only one desktop icon back to it's desired position, several other icons move with it! I'd rather not have my desktop icons moving around on me every time i open or close the magnifier. This ain't right
