The short quick answer is yes. However, there are some not sure reservations - where are these files? What app is using them. Are there other users relying on them?

These hidden files are usually created by Windows Media Player. You can delete them, but they will reappear.

Assuming they're actually created by "Windows Media Player".

I've got hundreds of album covers and none have been created by Windows Media Player because I simply don't use it. And it won't create in the background because it hasn't been told where the files to be used are.

Album art is embedded in .mp3 files so you can probably safely delete the .jpg files. many apps recover album art id you accidently delete images which are needed - else you can find them by a Google image search for the album name

Thanks for the replies,I will leave them for now as I don`t want to delete things that could be used elsewhere.

You can safely delete them and apply new ones as needed. There's no harm in doing so. And only you know what media player is using them so the decision to delete or not should be simpler than us guessing here.

    Good luck.
