    restart explorer and restore windows?

Is it possible to restart explorer and make it reopen all windows?
Why i want it is in case i need to update the environment variables, explorer is the launcher of most and thus needs to be restarted as well as far as i know.

I can logout and login in order to make this work, as that will restore all opened windows (if set in explorer).
But i don't always want to do that cause of other applications, so if it's possible to do this via some script or similar it would be great.

You can use Task Manager [right-click of Task bar or Ctrl+Alt+Del] to End Task of File Explorer.then reopen it using Windows key + E.

Your best bet is probably to use a 3rd party file manager that has a restore previous windows function.
