Any way to display the full path for certain folders (documents, etc)?

    Hi
I noticed that File Explorer doesn't show the full path in the title bar (after I enabled this) for certain folders such as Documents, Downloads...that you select in the navigation pane. It shows fine if I navigate to the same folder though.

Any way to show the path for these folders.

Hi, you appear to be asking a very closely related question here:

Any reliable way to get the parent folder in File Explorer?

You can add a context menu entry to open the file system location. Copy the following into a text editor & save as a .reg file. Then merge.

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell\OpenFSFolder]
    @="Open file folder (new window)"

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell\OpenFSFolder\command]
    @="explorer.exe \"%V\""

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\OpenFSFolder]
    @="Open file folder (new window)"

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\OpenFSFolder\command]
    @="explorer.exe \"%V\""

What about right-shift-clicking the entry, selecting copy as path, and pasting it somewhere you can see it, like Notepad? It's not showing it in Explorer (and I'm not sure how to make that happen), but it is showing what you want to see.

I think it depends on which Documents you are talking about. If it's the one in Quick Access, that points to This PC\Documents abd that is what will show in File Explorer address bar. I don't understand the rationale behind it but it's probably tied into Junction points and Hard links.

When using file explorer (not often) I just click a blank space in the right side of the address bar to see the path.
