    Going into Sleep mode

Hi all, I recently migrated from a HDD to a SSD in my computer, did install the latest version of Windows 10 than what it was before, and i'm noticing something different with the way it goes to sleep. Originally when i put it to sleep, the computer would go down and the power button would blink, and was able to be woken up with the touch of the keyboard. Now after the upgrade, when i put it to sleep, the light does not blink, and the keyboard does not wake it. The only way to wake it up is by pressing the power button. Before vs now, is it now going into hibernation, or is there something else that could be different? Thanks

Don't think this is related to SSD.

I upgraded a Thinkpad and had the exact same issue. In my case it was driver issue.

If you are lucky, open device manager and see if any devices have a yellow triangle.

Ok I'll check for that later, could this be a hibernation issue? I was considering turning that off and see if that makes a difference.

Sounds like an issue with fast startup, which is Microsofts version of hybrid hibernation. You can check in advanced power options or just use a command line and disable hibernation.

It could be but on Thinkpad it wasn't. I installed key drivers from their site and the problem resolved.

You could also go into power plans and restore the plan you are using to "Defaults"

To kill hibernation, which will kill Windows Fast Startup

    To a command prompt(admin) or powershell(admin)

    powercfg -h off

To reverse change the word off to on.

If you want to kill just Fast Startup...

That's what did it, turning hibernation off using powercfg. Now the light is blinking as expected. Thanks!

Not sure it is worth pursuing but sounds like driver, the issue is figuring out which one.
