    Metadata no longer supported

Hey gang, you have been very helpful fixing other problems that my friends have ! So here is the problem, my friend sent me: I'm sure you already know Microsoft has cancelled the service supplying metadata for windows media player which means I can't get album art or track information for my cds. I'm wondering if there is an alternative service I can go to?
Any help that i may pass along would be most appreciated !!!
    Thanks
    Chuck

I believe it will give him all he wants. Why not go to the site itself and read? You can get answers to every question you have about it I believe.

I use TagScanner to add metadata to the contents of ripped audio CDs. It uses online DBs like 'Discogs' and/or 'MusicBrainz' to slurp/download the missing metadata.

I'm not sure where you got that idea from or what "windows media player" you're using but under my Windows 10 Pro x64 copy Windows Media Player certainly picks up "album art or track information for my cds"....

Why you're having your issue is the question, but Microsoft certainly hasn't "has cancelled the service supplying metadata for windows media player" as clearly shown above.

Anyway my default media player is JRiver Media Center (a paid app) or Plex for streaming when not at home. For CD rips I use either JRiver or dBpoweramp (paid program).
