    Serious Help Needed. Recovery needed.

A Senior MS Tech I was working with said he wanted to reinstall windows 10 version 1809 because after 4 MS updates, that is after the 4th MS update, MS Edge quits working and will not start. This is the fourth tech and the 2nd senior tech I have had to work with.

The reinstall finished and it comes up in an Administrator Account. I can't find my User account. Its gone. HOW DO I UNINSTALL THIS POS???? AND REVERT BACK TO THE PREVIOUS VERSION. I have lost all my software and data. This is Windows version 1809 (the same version I had) which works fine until stupid MS applies the 4th update to it. And BTW, after this wonderful install, MS Edge doesn't work right now either.

    Anybody help please!!!!!!!!

Not to throw gas on the fire, but can't you just revert to the backup you did before update? Images of my machine has saved me many times when something goes wrong.

    Sarcasm is a terrible thing.

I wonder what sort of "senior MS tech" theaudioanalyst dealt with. Sound like SOP for an outfit like the Geek Squad: a clean install gets rid of all problems. It also gets rid of all files, applications, etc.

Please! I never had to deal with MS tech support, because of backing up my system. Everybody should do it, but some folks don't.

ABSOLUTELY! Buy a 2TB or 4TB external USB disk (they are not that expensive) and use Macrium (recommended!) or another backup program to take full images of your working system. At least once a month or so, more often if you can't tolerate losing (up to) a full months work. You can even use weekly or daily incremental backups if need be.

You will pat yourself on the back many times over the next (cause there will be a next!) time your system gets totally screwed and you have to restore from a full backup!

My backup drive is an 8TB Seagate. (It was fairly inexpensive at Costco.)

Backups (images) are important. Everyone should do them. I try not to be too snarky with those who have not; I fear that they outnumber us.

I just wish that there was a practical and inexpensive backup medium other than hard drives. I have a BDXL BluRay burner (100GB), but it's much too small to back up my files.
