Yes, everything is normal. Every drive that has a drive letter will have its own recycle bin. When you delete a file on a drive it is moved to that particular drive's $Recycle.bin folder. When you open Recycle bin you are actually seeing a sum of all the recycle bins, note that it tells you which drive each deleted file is on.

The reason you cannot find any of the $Recycle.bin folders is that they are not just hidden, they are also system files. You need to untick 'Hide protected operating system files (recommended)' in Explorer's 'Change folder and search options' in order to see them.

What is a bit unusual is that you have the drive letter D: assigned to a Recovery drive. Unusual, but not unknown on some HP systems, so this is also normal if we are talking about the HP in your specs.
