Secure boot is enabled on my laptop. My Aomie boot CD will boot without turning secure boot off. However, if I burn the Aomie ISO to a USB thumb drive using Rufus, it will only work with SB turned off. Just wondering why the difference. Thanks for your help.
Try making a bootable usb using the win 10 tool,instead of Rufus and see if it works normally.The win method is idiot proof,which is why I use it.

I have no problem booting UEFI bootable USB drives made by the Media Creation Tool or Macrium Reflect on my Dell & HP laptops and home built desktop PCs
I've just been through that one! Had me questioning my sanity, it did!
What I found is that in order to boot from the flash drive:
If the flash drive is formatted as FAT 32, I don't have to turn off Secure Boot.
If the flash drive is formatted as NTFS, I must turn off Secure Boot.
What seems to have happened is that Rufus now formats the flash drive to NTFS, instead of leaving it at FAT 32. Rufus also tells me the flash drive won't boot unless I turn off Secure Boot.

Tried formatting Rufus with Fat 32. Still no joy. But thanks for your suggestion.
One last thing, does your BISO have Fast Boot, or similar name. Not to be confused with Windows Fast Startup.
Try shutting of Fast Boost as a test.
Why do you persevere with Rufus when Win 10 media creation tool uses data specific to your installation?
