Recovering partitions using Kyhi's Rescue Disk Power Data Recovery too

Two days ago my laptop would not boot up and I got an 0xC000 0098 error code. Using bootrec /buildBCD did not work, and bootrec reported that it found 0 windows partitions on the laptop, even though I multiboot that system between a "production" install and a "scratch-test" install. Both installs are Win 10 Pro 64.

Using the command line option in the install media repair option, the listed C drive is not the actual C drive. Instead it was a data files partition. So I already know that there is a problem with the actual windows partition.

So I booted up Kyhi's Windows 10 Recovery Tools - Bootable PE Rescue Disk and ran Power Data Recovery. I am unsure how to proceed because of the message to the top of the main window:

    IMG_0541[1].JPG - Google Drive

Can I safely ignore that message?

It is quite normal that viewed from a live boot disk C: may not be the Windows partition; it could be assigned a different drive letter. As you have a dual boot configuration, that's very likely to be so.

As you can boot your PC from the live boot disk you can quickly use file explorer to determine if you can see your Windows partition.

Using bootrec /buildBCD did not work, and bootrec reported that it found 0 windows partitions on the laptop,
    - does not necessarily mean the partition is missing.

see if there is an option to recover partition table...

there is not... (even with v11.5)

your options are data recovery or partition recovery...

You may have to restore a backup..

Funny you should say that. See my post change size of fixed size windows in Win PE?

All I can say is that I'm gobsmacked by this issue.
