No text in right-click window on taskbar after upgrading to Windows 10

No text in right-click window on taskbar after upgrading to Windows 10-example-missing-info.jpg
    Hi Folks,
I hope someone can help with this peculiar problem.
Ever since I upgraded to windows 10 I have no text when I right-click an icon in the taskbar.
    See attached screenshot.
It happens all the time whether I'm running any programs/browsers or not.
Very occasionally I do get text but it's not usually repeatable and a restart does not cure it.
I have an old Radion X1300 graphics card and my screen size is only 1650x1080 but it all worked perfectly OK on Windows 7.
    Regards.

This symptom is likely to be a limitation of your Windows 10 graphics driver. See what updated drivers your computer maker provides [and check for any Bios update while you are there].

Otherwise, open Device manager & see if selecting the graphics card then selecting Update driver gets you a more co-operative driver.

You might also find that merely reducing the screen resolution allows the text to appear.

    Hi dennis,
    Thanks for your suggestions.
I've already tried Device Manager and updating the driver and it says "You already have the best driver installed".
I've tried reducing the screen resolution from 1680x1050 (native) to 1440x900 and even down to 1280x720 and it just makes all the icons bigger but still no print in the right-click windows.
Here's a strange thing: if I restart in Safe Mode the text appears but (at a reduced screen resolution of 1280x800) but restarting normally and setting that resolution still doesn't work???

Visit graphic card manufacturer website to install latest version of driver.

    Hi Free Booter,
Thanks for your suggestion but I've already been to the AMD Radeon download drivers site and I have the latest driver pack.
I think the trouble is probably because the graphics card is very old, it's an X1300Pro but it worked perfectly on Windows 7, so what's the difference on Windows 10?
Do the graphics cards need more memory?

Boot Windows 10 into Safe Mode and see issue resolves.

You may be out of luck. Apparently there are no W8 or W10 drivers, though ATI did provided drivers for W7, last updated in 2010.

ATI does not provide official support for any X1000 series cards for Windows 8 or Windows 10; the last AMD Catalyst for this generation are the 10.2 from 2010 up to Windows 7.[1] However, AMD stopped providing drivers for Windows 7 for this series in 2015.[2]

This looks like a potential issue related to Anti-Virus and/or Cortana. Uninstall your AV temporarily and reboot to try to reproduce the issue. If it persists, run each command separately in an elevated cmd.exe
    sfc /scannow
    Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
    Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
