Hi again- i dont understands how to get HP tests to do what you call a continuous loop. It only offers 'run once' which says 2 hours so I will do that.
On the left side of the link: HP Diagnostics UEFI (unable to boot) > install > look for extensive tests > select loop until failure

zbook-
ok- had downloaded wrong HP software...sorting now..
BUT....the software is trying to install but it's saying no room for a partition and can it shrink main partiton?
A bit concerned....why does it need to do this?
can all of this be undone later??
Allow the software to run overnight.
In the AM make sure that there have been at least 2 loops.
Click esc > click component tests > run as needed > post images of the results into the thread
Instead of installing the software on the computer > find a flash drive that has free space > install onto the flash drive > run the tests in a similar fashion from the flash drive
The software is not installed in Windows.
It is installed in the EFI or system reserved partition.
If you saw a message indicating no room why did you install it?
If it were installed on the computer it is launched by power on and repetitively clicking F10 or F2.
If it were installed on a flash drive it is launched by power on and repetitively clicking F9.

Ok- I dont have a system reserved partion. I replaced my HP drive when all these problems started and reformed/partioned it differently.
The software today created a new H drive partition called HP_TOOLS....which is fine....
I booted using the instructions (F2) and it ran for TEN hours (just finished) and please to say not one single error

if you mean of the results of the 10 hrs of diagnostics? I cant. The test is over and i rebooted PC. but all the tests were fine as I've already said. (plus I've done and redone these tests previously)
