Purpose of "Set Run Count" in Context Menu

In File Explorer, I right-click on a batch file (.bat). Among context menu items, I see "Set Run Count..." What is the purpose or use of this option, and (assuming it is not relevant to me) how can I remove it?

I would search the registry for instances of Set Run Count and see if that gives you a clue as to what it is ad does.

This is not default context menu option the ShellExView utility displays the details of shell extensions installed on your computer, and allows you to easily disable and enable each shell extension.

You have Everything from Voidtools installed by the sounds of it.

    Enable run history
Remember the number of times each file or folder has been run. When you execute an item in the result list, its run count is incremented by one. You can set the run count for an item in the result list by right clicking it and selecting Set run count.... Disabling run history will not delete run history. Click Clear Now to permanently delete run history.

I would assume that if you disable run history in Everything Options then the Set Run Count context menu will be removed.

I have Everthing installed and Run History enabled (seems to be the default as I never set it) but I don't have the Set Run Count context menu choice?

If, as FreeBooter says, you install Shellexview (free), you should be able to find that context menu extension listed; you will see details like this and so learn more:

    Baffling. It's gone.

I've made a note to follow up here if it reappears. Thanks for the suggestions.
